David Gray's breakthrough into the folk rock scene came with the release of his forth album White Ladder in 1998. But before this the UK folk-rock scene had known about Gray for some time, even before his breakthrough into the pop mainstream in 2000. David's release of White Ladder in 1998 was a critical success that included hit songs like: "This Year's Love", "Babylon" and "Please Forgive Me".
"Babylon" in August of 2000 hit the #5 mark in the UK singles chart and to this day it remains his biggest UK hit to date.
