Britney Spears has brought herself from the trenches and is now back on top with a new album and a coming tour to the UK.
1981-born American singer Britney Spears had already appeared on stage as a child performer before becoming an international teenage superstar in 1999 with her album ...Baby One More Time.
For this record Britney received four MTV Europe awards, including best performer, and four Billboard Music awards, including Best Female Artist of the Year.
In 2000, her follow-up came to the record stores, Oops! ... I Did It Again, also winning her a number of awards. 2001 saw the release of Britney, after which, the now hugely-successful singer went back to acting for the motion picture Crossroads.
2003 was the year in which the single Me Against The Music came out, featuring Britney's idol Madonna. This hit was part of the album In the Zone, her fourth collection of songs to hit the shops.
Britney was a co-writer for several compositions, collaborating for instance with the likes of Moby. This record is widely regarded as Spears' most decisive step in leaving the talented girl behind and becoming a mature artist.
