Tupac’s Death: Relections
Sep 15th, 2006 by Kenny
A day after the aniveristy of Tupac Shakur’s death, I believe its a good idea to reflect on the rap scene and to ask questions as to if Tupac’s death has inspired change? Or has his death inspired less violence in the rap community?
Since hsi death Rap Mogals like Sean Combs have taken steps to bring awareness t to the vilance of the Rap Comminity. I have even seen Will Smith interject hsi opinion on the subject of cursing and violance of music music videos. But in real life, has there been change? No their hasn’t been a beef like the Tupac an Biggy beef since there deaths, that’s a change. But what else. The music videos still have more and more sex, artist still continue rap about their gang affiliation. What happened to the raps that brought about change for our urban communities. Lyrics used to talk about what was happening in our urban communities and they were also about change. Is it that this kind of music does not make money? I know there are rappers out their that still rap about community issues and the lyrics sound great. But these kind of artists never make it to main stream. I believe that their is something fundamentaly wrong wtih this.
